The University Transfer Arts certificate explores critical thinking into systematic inquiry, theoretical reasoning and decision-making. Including development of information literacy skills, effective written, verbal, and visual communication for clients. Students will utilize accepted research process and abilities in all professional inquiries, communication, and scholarship to apply and incorporate meta-cognitive processes for continued learning.

Admission Requirements: This University Transfer certificate requires Grade 12 graduation, or equivalent. English is met through English 12 with a minimum 'C+' grade, or through one of VCC's formal English Language Proficiency routes: successful completion of VCC ENGL 1101 or ENGL 1100; IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and no band below 6.0 (within 24 months); TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 82, including at least 21 in reading and listening and 20 in writing and speaking (within 24 months); the Language Proficiency Exam (LPI) with a minimum score of 4, at least 5 in English Usage and 26 in composition (within 24 months); the VCC English Language Assessment with a minimum score of 145 and at least 16 of 20 on the essay portion (within 12 months); or the Langara English Test with a minimum score of 4 (within 24 months). Individual courses within the associate degree carry their own prerequisites. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, at least 16 years old or a secondary-school graduate, and submit official transcripts and any other required documents.
