BA/BS in Kätilö (AMK)

The midwifery programme gives students the knowledge to work independently with women throughout the life cycle. Early studies cover care, medicine, anatomy and physiology, and later studies focus on midwifery competence. Small student groups allow individual guidance and repeated practice. Students learn leadership and teamwork and practise in a simulation environment with a patient simulator that reproduces realistic situations. The programme also leads to a nursing qualification and totals 270 ECTS credits over four and a half years.
