What competencies does the graduate have?Physiotherapist is a licensed health care professional, and an expert in movement and functional ability. The education focuses on supporting functioning and preventing of disability in people of varies age and different functioning. The education is based on the physiotherapy science. Competence development provides a description of the deepening/advancement of the student’s skills and knowledge from the basic level to advanced level in the following competencies: Physiotherapeutic examination and clinical reasoning, Teaching and counselling, Therapeutic competence, Co-operation and social competence and Technological competence.What kind of learning methods are used in the education?The performances in a course can include exercises, exams, written assignments, portfolios and various projects. The studies are partly carried out in small groups. This enables the development of different areas of professional competence and learning skills in group work and client/patient work. A student may perform part of theoretical studies and clinical practice abroad.What kind of career opportunities does the graduate have?The graduate may work within the field of rehabilitation both in the private and public sector and another separately approved working environment. The core knowledge is in the field of assessment and support of movement and function.
