BA/BS in Französistik

French Studies is a minor in the Bachelor of Arts that focuses on the French language and the literature and culture that go with it. Students keep improving their practical command of French while working in linguistics, literary studies and cultural studies. Linguistics follows how the language arose and how it works today. Literary studies trace French writing from the medieval period to now, with theory and research tools. Cultural studies look at politics, economy, media and education in French-speaking regions. The minor is combined with a major, and job options depend on that major. The Bonn degree is a Bachelor of Arts studied on campus over 6 semesters.
