— it helps other students.
The master's specialisation follows the University's research priorities, namely particles, photonics and the physics of condensed matter. Because questions cross disciplines, students learn to connect ideas from different areas and set findings into scientific perspective. They also learn to use research methods and results independently, responsibly and with self-criticism.
The program trains students to approach complex relationships in physics with scientific methods, to analyse problems beyond what is currently known, and to solve them as far as possible. That requires intensive academic work in the chosen areas of specialisation. Building on scientific fundamentals, learners tackle demanding research questions and gain practical, strategic problem-solving ability.
Strong analytical and methodological skills plus a research-based education in mathematics and natural science allow graduates to meet the needs of many professions. Examples include university and institute research, industrial research and development, administration and management, patent work, ministries and authorities, finance and software services, consulting, and production monitoring.
