PhD in Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering is a doctoral programme of 180 ECTS credits at the University of Iceland. The study rests mainly on the candidate's own independent research, which ends in a dissertation. The doctoral committee may ask the candidate to take courses beyond the research work. When it does, the credits for those courses are added to the credits needed for the dissertation, so the total can exceed the base figure. Admission requires an MS degree from the faculty or an equivalent qualification. The page points applicants to the regulations on graduate studies, the academic calendar, the application process and timetables, and it lists a student service office in Reykjavik for questions. Information for incoming exchange students, the international division and student and career counselling is also linked.
