Overview

This blended online diploma runs over one part-time year and totals 60 ECTS. It is built around the senior cycle curriculum, and its design follows the Teaching Council's subject registration rules for Politics and Society. The course also covers wider ideas in politics and society and how they apply in classrooms and communities. Two twelve-week semesters are delivered fully online with evening sessions, every second Saturday, and one two-day workshop on campus. Aimed at primary and post-primary teachers, the Level 8 award also suits people who want continuing education for careers in voluntary, political, human rights and advocacy sectors. Two intakes a year give flexibility around work.
