Overview

This interdisciplinary honours degree draws on policy studies, sociology, psychology, criminology and research methods, plus a professional skills strand that includes social innovation. Students study how policy shapes communities, how human behaviour influences social structures and how justice systems function. Research modules tie the strands together by teaching evidence gathering and presentation. Learning combines online and on-campus formats. The award is an honours bachelor of arts at Level 8, and applicants apply through the CAO. Graduate pathways are varied, so learners can use the degree as a base for employment or for further study.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Leaving Certificate 2 H5s and 4 O6/H7s including Mathematics and English or another language. Pre-2017 grading: grade C3 in 2 higher level subjects and D3 in 4 ordinary level subjects including Maths, English and a language.
