Overview
This post-diploma route into construction management, delivered as a Bachelor of Science, builds on the university's existing diploma programmes, in Structural Engineering, Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying and Construction Management, adding advanced knowledge in construction technology, materials and systems, financial management, human-resource management and team building, so graduates can perform at a higher managerial level.
It covers design, project management, services engineering, and road and construction design, alongside organizational behavior, environmental-impact assessment, and the financing, insurance and disaster-mitigation sides of running a construction business. Senior-level decision-making and effective project teamwork run through the whole course, while research is treated as a way to understand both the technical and human sides of construction and lift overall performance.
