The BA (Hons) Childhood Studies is a University College Jersey degree run with the University of Plymouth. It is built around the needs of Jersey's childcare sector and is taught through blended learning, either full time over three years or part time over six years.
Modules cover how children develop, speaking up for children's interests, sustainability, and coaching together with mentoring. Students also build management and pedagogical practice, combining a theoretical foundation with practical experience so they are ready to progress in childcare and related work.
Entry is based on UCAS points or the International Baccalaureate, together with GCSE English and Maths, and mature applicants with professional experience in the field are assessed case by case. A DBS check is required. The course runs only if enough applications are received, and fees could change.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: 96 UCAS points, or International Baccalaureate minimum 25 points, plus GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above. Other Level 3 qualifications are considered, and mature applicants with relevant professional experience are assessed individually. A DBS check is required.
