Overview
Highlands College is Jersey's main further and higher education college, set on a campus in St Saviour and established by the States of Jersey in 1972.
Its website groups the college into Sixth Form College Jersey, University College Jersey, Highlands Apprenticeships, Highlands Professional and Adult and Community learning. University College Jersey is the degree arm: its degrees are fully accredited by either the University of Plymouth or London South Bank University, and the college also works with the University of Sussex on a qualifying social work degree, so graduates receive a UK-validated award while studying on the island.
The college describes ten degree pathways in areas such as business, childhood studies, psychology and criminology, social sciences, construction and civil engineering, computing and sport, with some courses taught at foundation-degree or Higher National Diploma level. Jersey residents can apply to the Government of Jersey's Student Finance scheme for tuition and living-cost grants, and the independent Highlands College Foundation offers small bursaries to students.
A published assessment in 2021 judged the college a good college with outstanding features.
Course lists and fees are published on the college website.
