Overview

The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering is designed for people who want to hold a leadership position in civil engineering, whether they are early in their careers or looking to move up from Higher Technician level. It covers a wide range of civil engineering subjects together with technical and managerial skills. Learners get hands-on time with modern equipment in a properly resourced environment and build current knowledge of the laws and regulations affecting the sector. The curriculum was developed together with London South Bank University (LSBU), a partner of many years, and takes a practical, design-focused approach. Classes run on a day-release basis for a minimum of three years from September 2025. Applicants should ideally already work in the construction industry. The course runs only if enough applications are received, and fees could change.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants need an HNC Civil Engineering at merit or above, plus one or more further qualifications such as an Access to Higher Education qualification or five GCSEs at A-C/grade 4+ including maths and English. Employment within the construction industry is desired. People with relevant skills from vocational qualifications or industry experience are also considered.
