— it helps other students.
Materials Engineering and Science looks at matter from the atomic and molecular level up, training students to understand why metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites behave the way they do and how that behavior can be changed. Over four years and 132 credit hours, students study structure-property relationships and apply them to developing or adapting materials for specific uses.
The program connects this fundamental materials knowledge to industries that depend on it directly: aerospace and automotive components, electronics, and biomedical devices all rely on materials engineered for particular strength, durability, or conductivity requirements. Sustainability and material efficiency run through the coursework as a practical constraint on design choices rather than a separate add-on topic. Graduates are prepared for materials testing, product development, and research-support roles across manufacturing and technology sectors in Kuwait.
