Run jointly with Daugavpils University, this master's prepares graduates for leadership roles in institutions and organisations that need to manage complex legal and economic risk, including the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime. Teaching builds the knowledge base expected of an organisational leader working in economic security, alongside the specific professional skills needed to apply it, such as independently sourcing, analysing and critically evaluating information and proposing solutions to identified problems. Coursework spans national and international security, economic security management, financial and tax systems and risk identification, organisational theory and strategic resource management, commercial and insolvency law, the legal regulation of credit institutions, and the prevention of money laundering, terrorism and proliferation financing, together with negotiation and professional communication skills. A practical placement forms part of the programme, giving graduates experience applying these frameworks to real organisational decision-making in economic security.
