Run jointly by Riga Stradiņš University and RISEBA, this master's prepares specialists for health-sector policy development and analysis, aimed at those managing state and private health institutions or working in strategic, financial and human-resource planning within healthcare. The third semester offers a choice of three modules - economic modelling in healthcare, digital health, or healthcare entrepreneurship and organisational management - building on core teaching in health economics and management science applied directly to health-sector problems.
Coursework combines lectures, group tasks, case analysis and interactive discussion with guest lecturers from the health field, and develops both the operational and human-resource management skills needed to run a healthcare organisation and the quantitative and qualitative research skills needed to analyse health data and evaluate the impact of policy decisions on patients and services. Graduates go on to work in healthcare institutions, health management agencies, health insurance bodies and municipal administration.
