MA/MS in Zobārstniecība

This second-level programme in dentistry is taught in Latvian in Rīga and is also offered in English. It belongs to the health care study direction, lasts five years with 300 ECTS credits and leads to the qualification of dentist (zobārsts). Accreditation runs until 28 May 2030. The programme prepares qualified dentists for general dental practice, including the treatment of patients with oral and dental diseases and public education work aimed at preventing illness. Students learn to examine the mouth and teeth, determine the causes of disease and plan complex treatment, whether that means treating affected teeth or replacing them with artificial ones through prosthetics. They also analyse clinical cases and solve problems that arise in dental practice, and develop skills for running practical and public education activities. Classes are held on weekdays.
