The doctoral programme develops the skills and working techniques needed across materials science, nanotechnology, medical engineering, environmental engineering and energy science, together with mechanical engineering and mechanics, building the ability to critically analyse problems, including in research, using innovative solutions. Teaching takes a comprehensive, systematic approach, giving in-depth understanding of how these processes and technologies function not only within mechanical engineering and mechanics but also across other economic sectors. Graduates are intended to hold systemic thinking and the skills needed to work at engineering and high-tech firms, able to tackle research and innovation tasks, independently propose and pursue research, and produce a doctoral dissertation that expands knowledge in fields such as environmental engineering and energy, medical engineering, materials science, nanotechnology, or mechanical engineering and mechanics.
