Overview
Described as the only programme of its kind in Latvia, this Master's course in Chemistry and Chemical Technology combines foundational theory with practical work in teaching and research laboratories and an internship in the chosen speciality. Specialisations cover production technology and environmental aspects, organic substances, biomaterials, polymer materials, inorganic materials, and analytical chemistry. Alongside coursework, a thesis project builds research methods and technique, with further practical experience available at enterprises. Training is aimed at work in companies handling chemical processing and manufacturing across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, fuel, wood, ceramics, textiles and building materials, as well as roles in quality-control and research laboratories, with graduates who pursue research prepared to continue into further master's study.
