BA/BS in Tiesību zinātne

This academic bachelor's programme in law is taught in Latvian at the University of Latvia in central Riga. Full-time study lasts six semesters and part-time study lasts eight. The workload is 180 ECTS credits, and graduates receive a bachelor's degree in law. The programme is the first step toward qualifying as a jurist. Its main goal is to give basic knowledge and competences in all branches of law, and students can specialise by choosing the branches that interest them. Full-time study includes state-funded budget places and a large number of fee-paying places, some of them co-funded, while part-time study is fee-paying only. Tuition is charged each academic year, with separate rates for full-time and part-time study and different rates for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens and for citizens of other countries.
