At Université du Luxembourg in Luxembourg, Luxembourg, Master in Learning and Communication in Multilingual and Multicultural Contexts is offered as a master's degree in Communication Studies programme. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. It carries 120.0 credits (ECTS). Tuition for international students is EUR 400 per semester (EUR 400 per semester for local students).
This Master studies how people learn and communicate where several languages and cultures meet, using Luxembourg's multilingual society as a natural laboratory. The curriculum is organised around five areas: research approaches, language and education, organisational discourse and business communication, globalisation with digital media and migration, and language learning itself. Courses run in English, French and German, and some sessions mix languages, so students practise the multilingual competences they analyse. Classes are usually grouped on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings, which helps students combine study with other commitments, and part-time student status is allowed. A work placement, a student symposium and guest lectures by external experts link the programme to professional practice. Teaching staff come from the university and other European institutions. Graduates move into education, communication, human resources, diversity management, cultural mediation, translation, journalism or digital media analysis, or continue to doctoral research in fields such as sociolinguistics, education, anthropology or sociology.
