BA/BS in Education (Chinese)

The Bachelor of Education (Chinese) at the University of Macau prepares students to teach Chinese language and culture in schools. Its intended learning outcomes centre on pedagogical knowledge and classroom skills for Chinese education, writing teaching plans and finding solutions to instructional problems, strengthening students' own sense of identity with Chinese language and culture, and developing professional ethics and responsibility. The study plan runs across four academic years and totals 120 graduation credits. Alongside Chinese literature courses such as Contemporary Chinese Literature and a course on classical literature from the pre-Qin period to the Tang and Five Dynasties, students take education courses including information technology in teaching and school counselling, together with general education courses and free electives. The language of instruction is Chinese, in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Admission, application requirements and fees are handled through the Registry, and a suggested semester-by-semester study plan is provided for current students.
