This Advanced Certificate in Information Technology is an MNQF Level 4 qualification from MAPS College. It is meant to prepare learners for work in a vocational sector and suits people who have already chosen an area to enter. The college describes it as broadly comparable to GCE A Levels, and it also prepares students for MNQF Level 7 bachelor's programmes. Units cover data communication and computer networks, database systems and office automation software, programming concepts, multimedia and digital graphic design, and computer and information systems. Assessment combines end of unit examinations with coursework. The course lasts 1 academic year and carries 120 credits, with groups starting in January and July. Evening classes are available online or at the Male Campus, which suits people who work during the day.
