The Diploma in Primary Teaching compresses the aims of the college's primary teaching programme into a single year, still working toward teachers capable of instilling the values and competencies set out in the Maldivian national primary curriculum. It suits students who want a faster route into primary classrooms, or who plan to use the diploma as a stepping stone into the full bachelor's degree later. Fundamentals of social science and science, curriculum studies, academic writing skills and essential mathematics build the general academic base, while developmental psychology and educational psychology introduce the theory behind how primary-age children learn. A single practicum placement gives students supervised classroom exposure before they graduate. Across 120 MNQF credits, the diploma is designed as a practical entry point into primary teaching roles, with a clear path to progress into the related bachelor's degree for students who choose to continue.
