This top-up degree is meant for diploma holders who want a firm base in evolving technologies, such as connected devices, large-scale data handling, cloud and serverless computing and the building of smart solutions. IT project management, teamwork and professional development are included too.
Two aims drive the design. One is to narrow the distance between the skills available in the job market and those employers expect. The other is to let diploma holders raise their knowledge in technologies that industry values. Graduates are expected to tackle complex computing problems, collaborate in inclusive teams, build applications that store and interpret data, and create mobile, cloud and data management solutions.
Suggested roles include technical consultant, systems analyst, team leader, database administrator, tester and cloud support analyst. Study lasts one year full-time or one and a half years part-time.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need a diploma pitched at level 6 of the National Qualifications Framework from a recognised institution, in Information Technology (Big Data Analytics), Information Technology (Internet of Things), Emerging Technologies or another relevant ICT field, acceptable to the APL/APEL committee.
