Overview
This master's academic programme in inclusive education is offered by the University of Montenegro and runs over three semesters. The first semester covers the pedagogical and psychological foundations of inclusive education, a holistic approach to growth and development including developmental disorders, and methods for working with children who have socio-emotional difficulties, difficulties with reading, writing and calculation, or visual impairment.
The second semester continues with the inclusive curriculum in practice, methods for children with hearing and speech impairment, research in inclusion, professional orientation in inclusion, and bioethical principles together with partnership between family and community.
The third semester includes intercultural pedagogy, methods for children with intellectual disability, the education of gifted pupils, and methods for children with physical disabilities and chronic illness, with music therapy available as an elective. Together the courses prepare graduates to support learners with very different needs in mainstream classrooms.
