Health Economics, Policy & Law examines the economic, political and legal approaches used to address the complexities of healthcare systems, including how policymakers try to maintain or expand access to healthcare of good quality while keeping systems affordable for patients and taxpayers amid rising expenditure, changing demographics, higher expectations and costly new treatments. The one-year programme takes an approach spanning several disciplines, combining legal, economic, managerial and political thinking, looks at how different countries weigh efficiency against equity within their systems, and explores the impact of the European Union and other international bodies on healthcare systems.
