Overview

This course examines who sets the agenda, which policies rise to prominence, and where accountability lies, using a critical analytic and descriptive framework to see who shapes the policy process and how it unfolds. It is organised into four units: an introduction to public policy, Paul Cairney's account of the public policy cycle's structure, the arena's actors and their decision-making, and accountability together with policy evaluation.
