MA/MS in Archaeology: Archaeological Science

Archaeological Science explores the specifics of archaeological methods and techniques, combining hands-on fieldwork with laboratory analysis. Scientific methodology sits at the centre of the approach, with hypotheses, data, theory, experiments, observation, and presentation and interpretation all contributing to how the past is understood. Students choose their own focus according to their interests, whether that means archaeobotany and archaeozoology, human osteoarchaeology, material culture or digital archaeology, and can combine any of these with lectures on particular regions or time periods.
