MA/MS in Archaeology: Global Archaeology

This one-year master's specialisation studies how the past can help explain and address present-day societal issues, examining dynamics within past societies such as innovation, adaptation, resilience and resistance across processes of long- and short-term change. Students choose from a wide range of focus areas, from the deep human past to the Roman world, pre-Columbian America or Dutch archaeology, drawing on the department's regional expertise in the Americas, the Mediterranean, the Near East and Europe, and connections to international research networks. The programme is designed to give graduates a foundation for a career, in the Netherlands or abroad, in archaeology, heritage management, heritage policy, or museum work.
