Program details

Overview

The specialisation examines how past and present relate to one another, the place of heritage within society, and how heritage can contribute to quality of life and the environment. Approached from an archaeological perspective, it brings together scholarly and hands-on sides of politics, cultural theory, environmental science and cultural and landscape studies as they relate to heritage management and museum practice, working through current approaches and ethical issues and experiencing some of them directly. Progression routes mentioned include careers in archaeology, heritage management, heritage policy or within museums, at a national or international level.
