Overview

This specialisation is aimed at students interested in interdisciplinary technologies and research relevant to high-tech industries such as semiconductors and nano-fabrication. Alongside physics, students learn analytical frameworks and skills for designing novel semi-conducting nano-materials, developing instrumentation for high-precision measurements, or developing software and hardware for integration and design. The programme combines research with experience of a scientific business environment spanning idea, prototype, and application, including a research project with an industrial partner, real-life industrial case studies, lectures from industry guest speakers, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
