Overview

The master's programme examines how nanotechnology addresses societal challenges such as early cancer detection, sustainable energy storage and water pollution monitoring, teaching students to think, design and experiment at the nanoscale, where materials behave differently from their larger-scale counterparts. Work takes place in the NanoLab of the MESA+ Institute, which includes large cleanroom facilities. The three main application areas covered are healthcare, ICT and sustainability, developing new materials, technologies and products, and preparing graduates for research, high-tech industry or entrepreneurship.
