Cert in Sammenliknende politikk

The one-year programme in comparative politics covers 60 credits over two semesters. It is a specialised political science course that studies political institutions, organisations, processes and behaviour at local, national and international levels. Comparisons across political systems and change over time are central, and political development in Europe receives particular emphasis. The course gives students a basic understanding of central topics in political science, such as the conditions for democratic government, state and nation building, and the relationship between the state, interest groups and parties. It offers a combination of subjects that can lead to teaching competence in social studies in Norwegian public schools. Teaching takes place in Bergen on campus, with a study programme of 20 places.
