Overview

This two-year full-time master in intensive care nursing equips nurses to take responsibility for acutely and critically ill patients around the clock. Teaching combines lectures, seminars, group activity and problem solving linked to practice. Students build critical thinking, analysis of research literature, advanced clinical practice, and the ability to communicate knowledge in writing and orally. The programme is offered at the Bergen, Førde and Haugesund campuses. Exchange is possible through Nordplus networks with partner institutions in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Bachelor's degree in nursing with Norwegian authorisation as a nurse, plus at least one year of professional practice after authorisation. Completed further education in anaesthesia, paediatric, intensive or operating-theatre nursing is listed as a supplementary entry requirement. Half of the places at each campus may be reserved for applicants living in the relevant health trust area, assigned by residential address.
