MA/MS in Anestesisykepleie

This 120-credit master's in anaesthetic nursing is taught full-time on the Bergen campus, with teaching also available in Førde and Haugesund. It is a specialisation within the master's in specialist nursing. Nurses learn to provide safe anaesthetic care for patients during surgery or examinations, to judge acute situations, and to maintain or restore vital functions such as breathing and circulation, both inside and outside hospitals. Students learn to combine clinical practice with knowledge-based development, research and quality work. Completing 120 credits gives a master's degree and qualifies for work as an anaesthetic nurse with special responsibilities, while stopping after 90 credits gives a further-education award. Nurses who already hold the further education can apply for a top-up to the master.
