MA/MS in Counseling Psychology

HBKU's College of Islamic Studies offers an MA in Clinical Counseling Psychology built within an Islamically integrated framework, aiming to train mental health practitioners who understand and can work with the religious sensitivities of Muslim populations. The curriculum is designed to meet international competency standards for mental health practitioners, supporting potential licensure in multiple settings. Students build clinical hours partly inside the College's own psychology training clinic and partly off-site through partnerships with outside mental-healthcare providers, guided throughout by internationally recognized faculty. The program has earned international accreditation from IRCEP, the International Registry of Counsellor Education Programs, itself affiliated with the US accrediting body CACREP. Completed over two and a half years, the program aims to produce scholars and practitioners who can advance the emerging field of Islamic psychology both in Qatar and internationally.
