Master of Education (Science)

The Master of Education (Science) is a specialisation at the National Institute of Education for science educators. It gives a theoretical and practical base for curriculum development, the use of innovative teaching methods and the growth of basic research skills for science education. It also deepens understanding of science and STEM education, covering their nature, history and philosophy, together with how they are taught, learned, planned, put into practice and assessed. Applicants are expected to bring field experience in science-related education and undergraduate coursework in science, so the programme builds on subject knowledge they already have. It is one of 16 specialisations within the Master of Education, a degree intended mainly for teachers employed by schools in Singapore or by the Ministry of Education. Study is available full-time or part-time.
