Ecotechnologies is a second-cycle programme that builds expert knowledge of technologies meant to be sound both ecologically and economically. Teaching is organised around the research and development projects of industry, service activities and the public sector.
The programme responds to a shortage of professionally qualified managers who can put sustainable development into practice, a need that grew as Slovenia joined the European Union and competitiveness pressures increased. It joins social, economic, technological and environmental aims, particularly in production and consumption, and stresses new processes and products that use raw materials and energy efficiently, minimise and recycle waste, and limit the environmental harm caused by production and transport.
Basic research is deliberately linked with applied work and with industry. The study conditions are designed so that high-level theory meets practical problems in production and decision-making, and the programme is aimed in principle at candidates who already have professional experience and backing from their employers.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The programme is intended in principle for candidates with a minimum of two years' work experience who have their employers' backing.
