The Economics bachelor's programme is taught in Turkish and covers consumer and producer behaviour and the main macroeconomic phenomena. Students study economic theory, economic policy, economic development, international economics and economic history. The curriculum builds economic modelling and independent analytical thinking, and encourages students to approach problems from several perspectives. Specialist courses include practice in the business world, and an internship is part of the programme. The intake began in the 2008-2009 academic year and the department has four academic subfields.
Graduates receive a bachelor's diploma in Economics. The aim is for graduates to use their analytical knowledge in economic work across public and private organisations.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission through the national YKS exam and ÖSYM central placement; score type EA; 50 places; lowest placement score 308.3 (success rank 317,221). Horizontal transfer from an equivalent programme is possible. Students are assessed individually before term starts.

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
