2D Animation and Stop Motion (with Foundation Year)

This course begins with a foundation year, preparing you for the creative and technical demands of 2D animation and stop motion. It suits students who need additional preparation or who do not yet meet the grades for direct entry to degree study. Once the foundation year is complete, you follow the same programme as the honours degree. You create animated and stop-motion sequences for film and television, combining drawing, design and digital art with technical animation skills. Studio-based projects build towards a showreel and a portfolio of finished work. Graduates pursue roles as animators, stop-motion artists and motion designers in film, television and independent production. Students also develop the drawing and digital skills that underpin professional animation work, building them step by step through the course.
