Psychology with Counselling

This degree combines psychology with counselling to explain psychological distress and how it can be alleviated. It promotes wellbeing and mental health, and it explores the scope and everyday activities of practising counsellors and counselling psychologists within a range of professional settings. You learn why further training, supervision and continuing professional development matter for counsellors and counselling psychologists. Research training allows you to investigate a topic of your own choosing, while developing the analytical and interpersonal skills that underpin effective helping relationships. Graduates are prepared for careers in mental health, education and social support, and for further training in counselling and psychology. The course suits people who want to help others heal and who are interested in building a rewarding career in supportive professional roles.
