Overview

This PGCE with qualified teacher status prepares students to teach across the primary age range of five to eleven. It covers the national curriculum for both key stages and develops practical teaching skills through work in classrooms. Placements take place in many schools, including provision for pupils with additional learning needs and Welsh-medium schools. Bespoke modules help students explore the research and theory behind effective primary teaching. Students are supported by university tutors and school-based mentors and join a regional education partnership. The course is delivered full-time and prepares graduates to teach in primary classrooms.
