This bachelor's program trains students to build and evaluate software-driven systems. Because classes are small, learners work closely with faculty advisers while they pick one or more focus areas, such as cybersecurity, game programming, software engineering, applied computing or the theoretical foundations of the field. Employment paths include software engineering, systems architecture and web design, and the fast-growing areas of cybersecurity and cryptography. Some students choose research and doctoral study instead. Those who want more can stay a fifth year in the accelerated master's option. The degree is STEM-designated, giving eligible international graduates the chance to extend OPT to 36 months. Adelphi also offers minors in computer science, cybersecurity and scientific computing, which let students in other majors add technical skills to their main field.
