The Interdisciplinary Studies degree at Alabama State University, available as a B.S. or a B.A., is designed for students whose goals do not fit a single traditional major. Offered through University College, it lets learners customize their coursework around their own academic and career interests. Depending on aspirations, students may take classes in fields such as biology, psychology, history, philosophy or mathematics. Combining several disciplines helps them see links between subjects, and the degree can lead toward careers in teaching, research or science, or toward graduate study in one discipline.
