BA/BS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice requires a practicum in which students gain hands-on experience through an internship with a local, state or federal criminal justice, corporate security or service agency. Graduates pursue careers in law enforcement and public safety, courts and the legal system, and corrections and rehabilitation, as well as emerging areas such as intelligence analysis and fraud investigation. Some roles, such as attorney, need further study. Program goals include analyzing policy, evaluating practices, research, evidence-based decision making and professional readiness. Career advising, internship access and job-search help come from the university's career office, while the financial services team walks applicants through FAFSA, payment plans and tuition deferment. The university is accredited by its regional accreditor, the Middle States Commission.
