Public Administration is a bachelor's major in Auburn's College of Liberal Arts, housed with the political science department. A four-year plan blends the university core with major courses on government and public service.
First-year students take English composition, public speaking, core science and humanities, and a course on American government in a multicultural world. Earning at least a C in that government course is needed for some upper-level political science classes; a 4 or 5 on the AP exam in the subject can meet the requirement.
Later terms bring foreign language, history, math, literature and fine arts, together with a course that prepares students for liberal arts careers. For prerequisite questions, students should contact the chair of the department or the coordinator of the program.
