AA/AS in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities

This Associate in Arts, with a humanities emphasis, explores human society and culture and how people make sense of the world. It suits students expecting to major in subjects like English, history, or political science once they transfer to a university. The two-year plan combines a three-course Humanities sequence with composition, ethics and cultural values, film studies, and distribution requirements in natural science, social science, and quantitative skills. Electives allow students to tailor the plan toward a career goal, and film and ethics courses broaden the perspective. Studying a foreign language is strongly recommended, and students are encouraged to meet an advisor before choosing electives so that choices line up with their intended transfer path.
