Cert in Precision Metal Working

Welding Technology is offered as a Certificate of Achievement that prepares students for American Welding Society certification. Training covers shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, plasma cutting and oxy-fuel cutting. Students train at the college's Farm of the Future and gain hands-on experience. The program starts with fundamentals and moves to advanced work with plates and pipes, joint fit-up and alignment, metallurgy, weld symbols and reading detail drawings. Certification depends on completing all required coursework. Financial aid is available to those who qualify, and new students can begin at several start dates each year.
