Cert in Accounting and Related Services

This diploma prepares students for a range of entry-level accounting jobs in workplaces that rely heavily on technology. The program builds the schooling and practical abilities employers want when they hire and promote staff. Completers earn the diploma. Students begin with general education in English, social or behavioral science, and mathematics. Occupational classes follow in two levels of financial accounting, computerized accounting, spreadsheet applications, individual tax accounting, and payroll accounting. Students also learn document production and computer literacy, skills that support daily office work. Two electives complete the plan. One is a guided occupational elective and the other is an accounting elective, each chosen with the help of a program advisor. This gives students room to add breadth in business or to go deeper into accounting topics that match the jobs they hope to pursue after finishing.
