Cert in Human Resources Management and Services

The Human Resources Management Certificate gives students a basic background for entry into employment in human resource management. It is a credit certificate, so the coursework can also count toward a related degree program after an advisor reviews the options. The course sequence starts with an introduction to business and industry and a course on supervision, then moves through business law, human resources management, labor management relations, employment law, compensation administration and business ethics. One program elective lets students tailor the sequence, with management courses suggested. Classes are offered in person at Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex and Hunt Valley, and also online. New college students take a one-credit academic development course in their first semester unless they transfer in qualifying credit. Financial aid covers only the courses that belong to the certificate itself.
